I used these springs for a utility trailer tailgate lift system. They provide the perfect tension for easy raising and lowering. My design includes unistrut posts for adjustable tension by moving the holding bolt. The cables were slightly long but cutting them to size works well. Durability is uncertain, but they’re a cost-effective replacement if they last 9-10 years.

I'm 76 so I was a bit concerned that this DIY replacement might be strenuous. Turned out to be a simple 30 minute job. Roll the door up, secure it, remove and replace. The door has not been this smooth and quiet since we bought the house 12 years ago. Everything was a perfect fit for my 8X7 door. The kit came with all I needed to replace every piece of hardware.
