Follow these 5 easy steps to install a towel ring that complements your bathroom and adds functionality.
Required Tools for Installing a Towel Ring
Hammer | Mounting Hardware (Bracket, Anchors, & Screws) |
Drill & Bits | Level |
Pencil | Towel Ring |
STEP 1: Determine Towel Ring Placement
Towel rings are typically installed next to or near a sink, ideally positioned 50 to 52 inches from the ground, or about 20 inches above the counter. Ensure that the mounting bracket is level for a straight installation. If no stud is available, use wall anchors to secure the ring.
TIP: For bathrooms designed for children, consider lowering the towel ring to about 36 inches from the ground for easy access. |
STEP 2: Mark Your Drill Holes
Use the mounting bracket as a template to mark where you will drill. If you're not installing into a stud, drywall anchors are essential. These plastic anchors, included with most bath accessory sets, will help hold the towel ring securely in place.
TIP: Our towel ring selections come complete with mounting hardware, ensuring a quick and easy installation. |
STEP 3: Drill Anchor Holes and Install Drywall Anchors (Skip if Installing into a Stud)
Drill holes for the anchors, using the correct size drill bit. If you're not drilling into a stud, insert the drywall anchors into the holes, tapping them in gently with a small hammer until they are flush with the wall. The anchors will ensure a secure fit for the screws.
STEP 4: Install Mounting Bracket
Align the mounting bracket with the anchors and secure it using the provided screws. Ensure the bracket is level to avoid crooked placement.
STEP 5: Attach The Towel Ring to the Mounting Bracket and Secure It
Position the towel ring over the bracket, ensuring the notches on the base of the ring align with the mounting bracket. Double-check that the ring is level, then tighten the set screw using an Allen key or small screwdriver to secure the towel ring.
