Great product. I'm a contractor and looked for some bracket options from my hardware supplier, but then I found these online. These are perfect: solid, great finish, slots for the screw heads, etc... don't buy the more expensive ones listed from the other distributors. These are bomb proof. Trust me, I know my stuff, and these are an excellent investment. I cut some shims from a 2X4 in order to clear my casing, then I added a furring strip on the backside of my 2X4 brace so it almost flushes against the door- the tighter the fit, the more secure... but, you don't want it so tight that you're rubbing paint when you're removing the wood brace on and off... I'll probably paint the wood brace eventually. But, I just made it 100X more difficult for any dufus to try and bust down my door.
